Part 3: In which we take a stroll along the rim of the Big Dit- er, the Grand Canyon, get more attention, and meet a special friend from Moscow.
**********************
Recap: After a long ride, me, Captain Jack, Mom, Dad, Grandma, and Grandpa arrived at our destination: the Grand Canyon. I discovered the canyon is a REALLY big ditch with lots of people looking at it, but it’s not so big that people don’t want to look at – and pet and photograph – me (and Jack)!
After hanging out at the first view point long enough to get all the attention the people there were going to give us, it was time to take a walk to another view point. First, however, we had to decide which way to go.

This way?

Or this way?
We finally decided on a direction (I think it was west), and followed a path to the next viewpoint where I pulled Mom dow– I mean, where me and Mom walked down some more stairs to where people were waiting to see the truly spectacular site: Sergei!

My new friends had to take pictures of me!

And pictures of us together!

Meanwhile, Jack and Grandma were
waiting about halfway down the stairs.

Jack gets some loving.

That nice lady admiring Captain Jack has a husband
named Jack.

I think she’s comparing my Jack to her Jack.

Jack puts on his “distinguished” look for the picture.

I’m down at the bottom of the stairs
admiring the view…

…when Jack’s new friend sees me and Grandpa.
Guess what? Jack’s friend knew exactly what I am (a Borzoi) because she’s from Moscow, in Russia. Isn’t that cool? And her ex-husband’s name is – you guessed it – SERGEI! Her Sergei and Jack are friends, just like me and Captain Jack!
She spent a lot of time admiring me and talking to Mom and Grandpa about me. She told us Borzoi are rare in Russia and you have to be an experienced sighthound person to get one, so I guess things aren’t too different there as far as Borzoi are concerned. I think I really made her day because she got to talk to me and pet me and talk about how aristocratic I am.

I think Jack was a bit irked at me stealing his friend.

Finally it was time to head back to the van, so we posed for one
last picture at this view point, and then we were off.

I wonder where we’re going next.
