Dash Comes to Play…sort of

April 9, 2008

Sorry again for the delay in getting a new post up, but Mom hasn’t been feeling good, and you know how bad I am at typing.

Anyway, here we go – more time travel via blog. As promised, we’re now going to go back to January 20, 2008, the day Dash and Weasel (aka Wesley) came to visit.

According to Aunt Julia (she’s Dash’s person), Dash had seen the pictures of me and my pack playing and wanted to come over to play. Since Aunt Carol was coming over, too, she decided to bring Wesley so we could all play together.

Visiting
But first everybody had to get some attention. The humans
are Aunt Julia (in the back) and Aunt Carol (in front).
The hounds, from front to back, are Wesley, Peaches,
Capt. Jack, BJ (on the lawn), Dash, and ME.

Visiting
Raven gives a kiss to Aunt Carol,
and Aunt Julia pets me and Dash.

In the pool
Of course, all this visiting is thirsty work,
so I got in the BIG water bowl to drink.
That’s Dash and Wesley nearby.

Dash and Sergei
Dash came to see me while I was in the pool,
so I had to make sure his ear was clean.

Since Dash didn’t seem inclined to play with all us other hounds – even though that was why he wanted to visit – Aunt Julia decided to run around and try to get him to play.

Dash still wasn’t doing anything more than just following his mommy back and forth across the lawn (rather than actually playing with all of us – although I kept trying to get him to play), so Aunt Julia decided to try to lure him into playing with a stuffie.

STUFFIE!!!!

Well, I wanted to play with the stuffie, but Dash was still being uncooperative, so Aunt Julia tried running with the stuffie…and throwing it…

Flying stuffie! I’ll get it!

Julia and hounds
Oops. I sort of overran the stuffie. Oh well.

Julia and hounds
Come on, Dash! Catch me if you can!

But Dash just went back to his mommy. Of course, so did I
because she had the stuffies.

Julia and hounds
I’ll show Dash how to play! Grrrrr! Gimme the stuffie!

Julia and hounds
I got the stuffie, and Jack decided it was his turn to play
with Aunt Julia.

Sergei
I settled in to watch Jack play.

Dash
Having decided he really didn’t want to play after all, Dash
left the playing field.

And so that was what happened the day Dash came over to play. Although he didn’t really play much with us, we all got to run around and have a bunch of fun. I guess we all like to play in our own way.

Bye-bye until next time!
