So, there I was, out in the yard playing with Fruit Loops, the Screaming Monkey. Actually, Fruit Loops doesn’t scream any more; he just sort of rattles. I think one of us bit his noisemaker a little too hard. Oh well, he’s still colorful and floppy and fun!

So, anyway, I’m playing with Mr. Fruit Loops, tossing him about, when I’m suddenly confronted by Little Miss Aloof - BJ. And she wants to play!

BJ: “Let’s race around the yard.”

“Winner gets the monkey.”

“You’re fluffy. You be the bunny.”

And off we went! (Do I really look like a bunny?)

Ha-ha! You can’t catch me!

We had to slow down when we got to the edge of the lawn…

…but we circled around and started again.
(Yes, BJ really is in the picture. See her tail?)

Uh-oh, she’s trying to cut me off. Better shift into high gear.

Can’t go this way.

I’ll try this way instead.

And then she practically tripped over the Kissing
Monkey (which, sadly, no longer makes
kissing noises).

She grabbed it and ran off, and I figured that was the end of
the race, although I thought we were racing for Fruit Loops, not
the Kissing Monkey. Whatever.

But then she came back. Yippee!

I figured this time she could be the bunny.
But she had other ideas…

“Watch me run, Sergei. Then I’ll watch you.”

And so I watched her run.

She is fast…

…and she can run in very tight circles. Still…

…when my turn came, I decided to show her some
STYLE.

However, I don’t think she was impressed.

Maybe style doesn’t count for much in a race.

But it sure is FUN!

Unfortunately, FUN is exhausting…

Until next time… Zzzzzzzzz….

Hi Sergei - I’ve been told that I may be getting a borzoi sister. I hope she will be as nice and fun as you!
