Time Travel by Blog

March 24, 2008

Remember back in my Excuses, Excuses… post I said I had a lot to tell you about? Well, after that the Renaissance Festival started and I had to tell you about that, and then Mom got busy again. But now I’ve convinced her to give me some more time out of her busy life so I can tell you about some of those things I wanted to tell you about earlier, before the Festival.

So today we’re going to travel back in time via blog to the evening of January 19, 2008. That evening, my Aunt Carol and Uncle Mike came over to help Mom and Dad bring home a big display cabinet Mom bought to show off her – get this – Moose collection. That’s right, my Mom collects Mooses (meese? moosi?). I guess she has a thing for long-legged critters like Borzoi and Greyhounds and Moose.

Anyway, after they helped get the cabinet here, Aunt Carol and Uncle Mike did the only thing that made any sense – they lavished attention on moi.

First, Uncle Mike played tug-of-war with me:

After that, I realized Aunt Carol was sitting in my chair and she had something yummy, so I had to go check it out in case it was something for me:

Sergei and Carol
Hmmm…what’s this?

Sergei and Carol
Mmmmm…whipped cream.

Sergei and Carol
Hey! Why did you take it away?

Sergei and Carol
More? Please?

Sadly, my best begging didn’t get me any more of the yummy whipped cream from Aunt Carol’s drink. However, Uncle Mike did bring me the Long Green Snake to play with.

Sadly, it was time for my mid-evening nap.

While I napped, everyone went into the living room to help Mom put Mooses in the new cabinet. Us mere dogs aren’t allowed in the living room, so all I could do was watch…

Here’s the cabinet with lots of Mooses.

After my nap, while the humans were still in the other room dealing with Mooses (rather than Borzoi), I decided to entertain myself with the Huge Green Spider toy.

Sergei
Hmmm… What to do. What to do.

Sergei

Sergei
I wonder what’s inside the spider…

Sergei
Ooooh – green fluff and the spider’s grunter!

Sergei
Die, grunter! Die!

Sergei
Ha-hah! The grunter has grunted its last grunt.

Unfortunately, while I was finding out what was inside the spider, Aunt Carol and Uncle Mike left…and Cooper took my chair!

Fortunately, Dad took pity on me and let me borrow his lap, which is just as nice for a late evening nap as my chair…maybe even better.

And so that was my fun evening with Aunt Carol and Uncle Mike. Next time I’ll tell you about what happened the next day, when Aunt Carol came back with Wesley, and Aunt Julia brought her Greyhound, Dash, to visit.
